On May 31, 1980, she left Quebec in tow of the tug Hanseat for overseas shipbreakers. Arrived at Spezia, Italy, on June 25, 1980, for scrapping. Scrapped by C.N. Santa Maria at La Spezia, beginning on September 3, 1981. Register closed on August 18, 1983, and endorsed "sold to Italy."
