The word Zenith is associated with the port of Duluth, Minnesota on Lake Superior. Duluth's nick name is the "Zenith City." The word means the highest place or the pinnacle, and in this city's case the highest place on the Great Lakes above sea level, and farthest inland a ship can travel from the Atlantic into the heart of North America using the St. Lawrence Seaway. Vessels on the Great Lakes have used this name, and one built in 1895 was named Zenith City, for the city of Duluth.
