I am doing a story on Algoma's self-unloader Roy A Jodrey (1965-1974). I see where she had Port and Stbd Day fuel tanks (1,691 cubic feet-12,650 gallons) each and Port and Stbd Bunker tanks (8,280 cubic feet- 61,400 gallons) each. Can anyone explain to me what the difference is between Day and Bunker fuel tank and how they used?
