According to the 1972 "Great Lakes Red Book", the steamer Cason J. Callaway would be largest, due to its long-ton, mid-summer draft tonnage of 21,838. The Philip R. Clarke and the Arthur M. Anderson both have the same statistics of the Callaway [620-70-36], but are listed as carrying 20,838 tons. However, if you go by length alone, the Red Book lists the Enders M. Voorhees as 624-67-35, but capacity of only 18,000 "long tons at maximum summer draft". Not sure how much we can trust The Red Book, but this is what it says. Hope that helps, Jeff.
