John Little received his Captains rank recently. Because of that, and 2 yr rotations, he cannot stay on the Mackinaw. Billet calls for a Comander, not a Captain. John is going to D.C. at Headquarters. Can't recall what section. Yes, you are correct, Capt. Little is a very nice man and very knowledgeable. It is said in local circles that he "wrote" the book on icebreaking tactics in the St. Marys River. His procedures for opening the River in the spring are being used today, and probably will be for a long time, until somone finds a better way to do it.
