This is where it can interesting. Marine Insurance rules can be very interesting and still follow historic marine practises. When you contract freight on a vessel you are essentially assuming a share in chartering. So not only will customer's freight delayed but the steamship line can look to all those who have freight on board to assume the costs involved for lightering or any other costs incurred. Those with marine insurance should be covered. While insurance to most can be rather dull, marine insurance because it still follows a lot of historic marine traditions and protocol is very different and interestinng for this reason
