I had an instance once, while being transferred from boat to boat. My first stop in Canada was at the Soo. When customs searched my carry on bag, they saw my officers coat with the 4 gold stripes on it. They asked the value and I said about $300.00. On the same plane with me was Fat's Domino the singer. He was right in back of me. They checked his carry on bag he had some very expensive jackets with him. They asked the value and he said one jacket was worth about $3,000.00. It had all kinds of stones,etc. on it. It put my fancy officers suit to shame. I had quite a laugh about it.I tell this story quite a bit. He was a great guy.
