Patrick, you have a pretty good source there, it sounds. While everything is up in the air and still being negotiated... I'll give you the summary thus far. The dock is scheduled to come down, yes, but the permiting process is lengthly and was one of the constant on-going delays that lead up to us (the Foundation) withdrawing our interest in preserving the structure as a maritime heritage center. In fact, lets make this easier anyone looking to know the rest of the story about the dismantling of the Ashland Soo Line Ore Dock... go to our website, www.NortheasternMaritime.org and click on Press Releases and it should be the 1st one you see. Any questions, feel free to post and I'll try to answer. I've been away for months and just now looking at boatnerd again, so If I've missed questions, emails, requests for info, etc - please forgive me.
