I got to watch alot of ships in the canal a few weeks ago and was wondering about those arresting cables - thanks Capt. Metz for your thorough explanation & description of creeping into the locks. You gave me a good appreciation of just some of the many things captains have to keep in mind when plying the lakes and canals.
