The cars on the Lansdowne were built as part of an order for 6 Skytop sleeper/lounges for the Milwaukee Road about 1948. The cars on the Lansdowne were first named Arrow Creek and Gold Creek. The following link has photos of them in service on the MILW a and on Canadian National, as well as several photos of the Lansdown in Detroit. http://www.trainweb.org/hiawatha/skyopening.html I never was inside the resturant when it was open in Detroit, but apparently large portions of the sides of the cars were removed to provide one open room between the two cars. This would make it difficult to restore the cars.******** The Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad has, or at least had, a similar car in storage, the parlor car Coon Rapids. The last time I saw it outside at Wells, it was in rough shape.
