According to the Ryerson Launch Booklet, the Ryerson ws built exclusively for Ore carrying and in turn her tanks were larger and had vertical sides, as opposed to other multi cargo boats with slanted sides. This made it easier to unload and lessened the chance of a unloading bucket damaging the hold. This was all on the Ryerson page under Fleet Photo gallery.
