I have in hand a clipping from the now defunct Cleveland Press dated 5/9/74...about a new Black-owned Great Lakes freighter company having trouble getting vessels because of racial discrimination. The article says:"The only ship Maritime owns it bought from George Steinbrenner and his American Ship Building Co. in Lorain. The ship is sitting in Lorain being repaired while Maritme looks for the other two it needs to go into business." Any information about the one vessel or anything else about this company?
