The Jumbo Spirit is indeed a cargo-carrying freighter, but unlike most lake and ocean ships seen at the Soo, it is not designed to carry bulk cargo. It delivered tar sands oil refining equipment to Duluth, which I believe originated in Japan. I don't know if it took any cargo downbound.
