A couple of possibilities come to mind. (1) As Hugh stated, they don't load grain when it is raining. (2) Before grain is loaded, the holds must be clean, dry and inspected. If the side tanks were damaged on a previous trip and leaking, loading would be stopped until repairs are completed and inspected. (3) Perhaps they are taking on a split load and are waiting on deliveries to the elevator.
