Greg: The Soo Line ore dock in Ashland loaded its last boat on August 19, 1965. The steamer Bethlehem took the last cargo... The old Clarkson coal dock received its final cargo I believe back in 1983. That was a coal cargo delivered by the Joseph H Frantz - she had first lightered at the Reiss Coal Dock on the other end of the harbor. I would have to look back at some old pictures to get the exact date the Frantz closed the Clarkson dock...The Reiss Coal Dock in Ashland still receives 4 to 6 boats per year, usually.
