It was all about positioning the boom out at 90 degrees or more to reach the spot they wanted us to place the coal. I believe the west bank kept us far enough off not to be able to hit our target. we may have also lightered some of the coal at the Riess dock in Duluth as we visited there also on the Sloan. After lightering we came back in at a reduced draft and were able to unload the proceed to Fraser for our 5yr. It was 15 years ago about this time of the season, end of July that we did all this. I needed my 30 days, and when the word came we were headed in for our 5yr, I was bummed, but it worked out because of this odd load we carried around Superior for extra days. Dan
