When I was a boy we used to spend some time each summer in Tadoussac. When I was about 7-8 (1965 or so) I remember a ship running aground on the beach near the quay. As I remember it, a passenger ship was coming into the quay and an engine room signal mix up meant that she drove full ahead (instead of the intended astern) right up on to the beach at close to high tide. The ship was driven so far up that one could walk underneath the bow at low water. Do you happen to know of an on-line photo resource that might have some pictures of the event ? As I remember it they had a job getting her off and it was weeks later with the aid of heavy ocean going tugs that they managed it.
