Joe, I believe the company you are asking about was the Reiss Steamship Company a division of the C. Reiss Coal Company out of Sheboygan, Wisconsion. The family pronounced their name "Rice" and the Reiss Brothers was just one of their boats named for 7 of the 8 brothers in the family.
