Chris, if you go to the downtown New Orleans area, there are some very good tour boats that run up & down the Miss R. from which you can see lots of shipping. Go to the foot of Canal St. On your right are tour boats that run up the river, including one to the Audubon Zoo. 3 or 4 blocks down river from there is the paddlewheeler Natchez. They travel to Challemette battlefield site. Ride across the river on the Canal Street ferry. Lots of ocean shipping & barge traffic to take in. Regards, Mike
