New Orleans is @100 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. Most of the ships are along that stretch and also between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Mostly industrial areas and not easily accessible. I would suggest maybe a river cruse between those ports or if really interested in the Big Muddy maybe from St. Louis down to the Big Easy. Probably a little longer cruse north bound against the current.
