It won't answer your question, but you might want to take a look at these historical charts. (type Lorain in the keyword search box) http://historicals.ncd.noaa.gov/historicals/histmap.asp The new coal dock first shows up on the 1948 chart, which is about the last year the old dock is labled. ***** And as an aside, take a look at the 1909 chart and look how narrow the river is above the Nickel Plate railroad bridge.....
