It had been clear, and then another pack of ice floated down yesterday (4/30). Probably there was some change in wind that caused it to float loose. Ice in Lake Superior in May isn't rare. We were up there a few years ago, and had the air conditioning on going across the Seney Marsh area in the UP, as the temps were in the low 70's and it was sunny. Went down the hill into Munising, and the temperature dropped to 48! There was ice along the shore all the way to Marquette.
