Middletown is a converted T-3 tanker. The Victory name, at least as I percieve it, pays some umbrage to the Cliffs Victory, which, in fact, was a converted VC2-S-AP Victory, the only one converted, that sailed for Cleveland Cliffs. There are a couple Victorys still around as museums, much like the 2 surviving Libertys. I served on many working parties unloading Victorys at Midway Island during the Vietnam War. After the war most of those remaining were laid up and/or scrapped. Loved those ships.
