Modern four-axle freight cars have a 143-ton gross weight limit. I beleve the empty weight for coal cars is around 25 tons (depends on car design) leaving around 118 net tons per car. While I don't know the specifics about the trains into Superior, trains from Wyoming's Powder River Basin generally run between 115 and 138 cars. The last PRB coal train I counted here in Holland had 124.
