I know that Wilson had a plan like that with the Wiltranco 1. According to the book "Master of Inland Seas" a fleet of tugs would haul barges between the upper lakes and Cleveland. When the large barges reached Cleveland they would off load into smaller "river" barges. The Wiltranco was such a beast to handle and the wheels were coming off the steel market and the idea was scrapped. I don't think too many tugs can swap notches. I have seen several tugs with Budworth or wire linkage swap barges, but not as many with the Bark River/Intercon?? system. I know the VanEnkevort and Dorothy Ann both pushed the Pathfinder but they only have a 6’ width difference. I doubt a narrower tug like the Undaunted could work with those barges. Brian
