If you are referring to the Grand Island (2), basically, she holed herself on the Starboard side in fog, in the West Neebish Channel. She was lightered and given permission to sail to Mclouth in Trenton. Final repairs cost $78,872 at Toledo. Further details are available in "Fleet Histories, Vol. 6, page 47, 48.
