Rouge Steel is now owned by Russian steelmaker SeverStal. Taconite pellets are the primary (only?) inbound cargo. I believe that Interlake Steamship delivers pellets loaded at the ore dock in Marquette. There was an earlier posting from a month or two ago about a CSL boat possibly unloading coke at Rouge; coke is primarily delivered via rail and I don't think that was a "regular" shipment. Sometime soon the larger of the two operating blast furnaces is to be taken down for ~ 3 months to be modernized. I would expect that inbound pellet shipments will decrease accordingly. You can estimate unloading frequency by looking at the "Detroit Area" section of Boatnerd's "Vessel Passage". For a given day, if a boat is unloading at the Rouge, it is shown in the "Other" category. Beeghly, Jackson, and Barker (Kaye) appear to be frequent callers.
