The "Forest Queen" that was wrecked off Indian Point in 1886 was a schooner and not a steamer. Mansfield (1899) mentions five vessels with the name "Forest Queen". (1) Forest Queen, 462 tons, built Newport 1855, dismantled and made into a barge in 1866; (2) Forest Queen, schooner, sunk Genessee harbor, 1856; (3) Forest Queen, propeller, 467 tons, sunk Clay Banks, 1869; (4) Forest Queen, schooner, 167 tons, wrecked Indian Point, 1886; and (5) Forest Queen, barge, lost with all hands on Lake Erie, 1872.
