Well, the paint job on the Girdler looks similar to the one I saw in that book( I will have to get back to Borders and look again), but now the question is...If the boats were finished by American Shipbuilding, and they (American) were located on the CALUMET River (S. Chicago), that doesnt explain what they were doing in the Chicago River since the two do not connect. Unless they were at a place on the Chicago River that had done work on the vessels also. This is quite interesting. But Im sure someone on here will have the answer.
