While boating with a friend he pointed out a massive repair to the breakwall just off the former US Steel South Works at the mouth of the Calumet river. He said a ship hit and ran through the concrete sea wall many years ago. I would guess this was before salties plied these waters. I can assume the ship would have suffered life threatening injuries to her hull. Any ideas who it was?
