If your thinking of the one I am thinking of, there were no lake freighters involved. The ocena freighter Montrose departed Detroit Harbor Terminal as the downbound B.H.Becker and loaded cement clinker barge was passing under the bridge. Montrose mistook the Beckers lights for the Westcott and shortly after the collision the Montrose went to the bottom nearly under the bridge. I think this was 1961.
