The *Buckley* was built by Parker Bros. at Houston as the *Linda Brooks* for a tank truck operator from the Chicago area who branched off into moving petroleum products by barge on the lakes and into Chicago's Cal-Sag and Sanitary and Ship Canal, Brooks Liquid Transport. When Brooks dissolved in the '60s, Capt. Barnaby bought her and renamed her *Eddie B* and ran her mostly across the lower end of Lake Michigan transfering barges from South Chicago to Gary and Burns Harbor, with some cross-lake towing thrown in. After Barnaby died and the family sold off the Calumet Marine Towing Corp., Kindra bought the *Eddie B.,* *Bonesey B.,* and *Adrienne B.,* as well as Barnaby's plant below the Skyway. Rear vision is quite good when the pilothouse is extended. I made a 16-mm film aboard the *Eddie B.* back in '78. Quite the experience.
