Alpena ties up, 10 - 12 three foot diameter "hoses" are dropped down from above from shuttles extended from the silos. They are about 30 feet about the deck. The hoses are attached to hatches in the middle of the deck. Four hours and numerous soundings later (to keep the load level) its done. When out of Thunder Bay you hose off the spillage.
