Does anyone know the exact count of steamers on the lakes from about 1840-1860? The question came up on a history test today, and I had to pick between the Great Lakes and Western and Southern Rivers for more steamers. I told the teacher there were probably more on the Lakes, and my honor is riding on this. lol. I take things way too seriously.
