Mike F is right. If a vessel is headed for the Calumet River, you get a great view of the skyline, very similar to what you probably saw on the Jackson. I have been into the Cal river and/or Indiana Harbor a number of times, and unless there is fog (common in spring/fall) or haze (almost daily in summer) you get a great view. Especially on clear nights. Pretty cool.
