My Father in Law told me of a ship loaded with new Chrysler Automobiles that csueght fire and sank due to firefighting efforts. This occurred in the old Tifft Farm docks in the late 1930's he guessed. He said for years you could look down in the water and see teh tops of the old cars on the sunken freighter's top deck. Apparently the ship wasnot raised and and is apparently buried in the silt and soild under what is today tifft farm nature preserve in South Buffalo. Anyone know any details, teh ship's name, the real final outcome or info on this ? Is it a legend or real, Is it still down there ?
