The Lake Ontario to Montreal section of the Seaway just closed within the last few days. I believe the last ships transited that area on either the 28th or 29th. A bit of traffic on Lake Ontario may continue for awhile, and ports on the St. Lawrence from Montreal to the ocean operate year-round. Above the Welland Canal most ships will stop moving in the middle or end of January, but depending on demand and weather conditions a few might go year round on Lakes Huron, Michigan, and possibly Erie.
