The information I have for Winfield Longe comes from Great Lakes Red Books and a couple back issues of ULS News. None of these documents have Captain Longe on the Cape Breton Miner. If he was a mid season promotion to Captain, he wouldn't show up in the Red Books and I don't have any copies of ULS News from 1974-1975.
