Well I went for one Laker today and got three. Coming down 106th St at 9:50am I spied a conveyor in the air at Carmeus. The Anderson was in and unloading already. As I fired off some shots from the bridge I noticed a boat at KCBX. Off to 100th St to find it was the Adam E. Cornelius. Looked like it was done loading as the boom was down and the loading chutes at the coal pile were up. Off to Calumet Park for a look into the lake. Nothing sighted. Off to shoot the Anderson some more while waiting to see what the Cornelius is going to do. I see the 95th St bridge and NS Railway lift bridge in the air and scratch my head. Back to 100th St to find the Kaye E. Barker coming in under the railway bridge. She must have just entered the river when I was down at the park and missed her entrance. Unlike the others I have seen so far, she was coming in bow first, not backing in from the lake. Squeezed her way around the Cornelius then "thrusted" her way to the KCBX dock behind the Cornelius. Adam took off shortly after that with the assistance of Tugs Colorado (on the bow) and Kansas (shoving on the stern) out to the harbor. Despite the windy weather, not a bad day for only my third time down there. Glad I had today off work. Steve
