Hey Folks: With all the terrible news from New Orleans and the Gulf coast, I wanted to mention a Great Lakes connection. Many people do not know that the four main Navy salvage ships were all built at Peterson Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. I read tonight that one of these ships, USS Grapple (ARS 53), is being deployed to the Gulf of Mexico. I hope she and her crew can assist in much needed efforts along with all the navy vessels and their crews in route tonight. I have a list of other navy vessels to be deployed if anyone is interested. Thanx : )
