Pilots get aboard ship at stlambert lock when proceeding downbown. they change pilot at TroisRivieres and quebec city. they then disembark at Les EScoumins. There's 4 sectors between Mtl and Les escoumins. There: montreal harbour, Montreal to trois-rivieres, trois-rivieres to quebec and quebec to escoumins. There's rules for pilotage. To make story short: between MTL to QBC compulsory ship: canadian ship LOA above 70m AND gross tonnage above 2400. International flag: LOA above 35m. Between QBC_ESC (compusory ship) canadian ship LOA above 35m, international ship LOA above 80m and GRT above 3300T. I hope this will help you out! If any question, feel free to ask!
