The Military Sealift Command (MSC) web site (www.sealiftcommand.com) states that they are hiring ordinary seamen (new people), able bodied seamen, third mates, and engineers. Unfortunately, the signup date for ordinaries was Feb 23. It's still open for ABs and mates. MSC is a way for ordinaries to get an ocean job on large ships. Otherwise it's difficult for ordianries. ABs can get ocean jobs easily through SIU and other unions.
