My resources show the Jones being in a serious collision with the Cason J. Callaway in August of 1955, being declared a total constructive loss as a result, and scrapped in 1956 at Superior WI. No mention that she sank, and none of the photos I've seen indicate a sinking and / or raising. I'm not familiar with another boat of the same name.
