There really are no reasons in maintaining the BADGER's coal burning boilers other than for historical reasons. I'm willing to put money on the BADGER being the largest coal fired vessel anywhere in the world. Although the coal dust can be annoying, many people take pleasure from knowing their riding on a landmark. The skinner unaflows will never be replaced once again, due to their historical significance, as well as their high torque output, and ease in moving from ahead to astern.
