Working on a boat has the good and bad sides. If you like having a social life of any kind a boat is not the place for you. Your away from home for long periods, you can't just make a phone call whenever, or go to the store whenever, ect. Many feel like they are all but in jail. On the plus side, the food is really good, low living expenses, and nice scenery. While I am glad i went sailing and often wish i was on a boat instead of in my cubicle it isn't a life for everyone.
