The Captain on the J. S. Ashley in 1941 and 1942 was Theo. A. Johnson. He was Captain of the Ashley again in 1943, then Captain on the J. J. Sullivan from 1944 - 1946, and Captain on the C. L. Hutchinson from 1947 through 1957. I have no receords for him after 1957 so that was probably his last year of sailing. The Chief Engineer on the J. S. Ashley in 1941 and 1942 was Howard Benham. He was Chief Engineer on the John Stanton from 1943 through 1947. His last year of sailing was apparently 1947.
