I sailed on the J.S.Ashley 1941/1942 age 18 now I'm 81 . Anyone know any of crew ? Captain Ted.A.Johnson or ships history? Nov.28th 42 I enlsted in the Air Corps.Flew 50 missions as a Ball turret gunner over Europe.50th.on Aug. 16th 1944 .Returned to U.S.A. and while visiting Milwaukee I watched the Ashley pass under a bridge,but wasn't able to contact any one.So I often wonder what ever happened to her ?
