There is no way to predict who will be at the Soo or Mac Bidge at any time. Locks Park at the Soo is open 6AM to 11PM, and the visitors center 10 AM to 8 PM. The center posts ETAs for boat within three hours of the locks. Another good place at the Soo is Mission Point. Go east on Portage Street to the Sugar Island Ferry Dock. Rotary Park is just east of the ferry dock and Clyde's Drive-In. For a real meal, get a Big-C at Clyde's. Don't let the food sit on the window tray or the seagulls will steal your fries.
