Thanks to all who posted photos of the MAC Gagnes tow on the News page. Two questions: 1) What is the purpose of the white stripe painted at bow and stern, just above the water? <http://www.boatnerd.com/news/newpictures04b/Saguenayc-5-26-04-nn.jpg> Is it a visual reference to help monitor how the tow is riding (i.e., if you can't see it, the tow is taking on water)? 2) In this kind of towing situation, does the trailing tug need to go slow ahead or slow astern to keep the right amount of tension on the line? Thanks.
