I watched the "Birth of a Legend" about the Queen Mary 2 last night and this will run again on May 1 on the Discovery Channel. Very good show that shows ALL aspects of building a ship. She is diesel electric and to get up to full speed, there are 2 gas turbine "kickers" to provide the extra power. Good explaination of the "bulbous bow" reasoning. Very good discussion on propulsion.
